The remains of Sen.Buruji Kashamu who died yesterday 8th August,2020 at First Cardiology Consultants, Lagos as a result of complications caused by COVID-19 was interred by 12 noon today, Sunday, August 9, 2020, in his Ijebu-Igbo country home, in accordance with Islamic rites as disclosed in a statement by his Spokesman, Austin Oniyokor late last night.
Sympathizers throng his residence ahead of the burial.
His final resting place was prepared before the arrival of his remains.
A condolence register was opened in his compound.
COVID-19 guidelines was ignored by the huge crowd turned out for his burial.
There were many dignitaries at the burial despite the short notice.
Security men were also interested attendance.
His body was carried into his house for some minutes before being brought out for burial.
His remain was carried across his compound in the midst of tears from his supporters.
Buruji Kashamu was born on 19th May 1958 to the family of late Pa. Kashamu Sodipe of the second son and third child of his mother’s four children for late Pa Kashamu Sodipe of Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State.
He served as a Senator representing Ogun East in the 8th National Assembly. He was also the Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government during this time.
The huge crowd that turned out for his journey to mother earth is an indication of something. He touched many lives.
