It took officials four hours to finally secure the U.S. Capitol complex after supporters of President Donald Trump made their way inside. One woman was shot inside the building; acting Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department Robert J. Contee III said in a late-night press conference that it was a U.S. Capitol Police officer who fired the shot. Three other people also reportedly died but their deaths were related to unspecified “individual medical emergencies”.
