The Governor of River state, Nyesome Wike, has said he did not finance the re-election of Godwin Obaseki, the Governor of Edo state.
The Governor disclosed this information when he appeared as a guest on Channel’s sunrise daily on Friday.
“He is a sitting Governor. What resources can I give him that he does not have?”When asked if he played a role in financing the election, the Governor replied, “What resources could I have deployed?”
Nyesome Wike was the chairman the PDP Campaign Council for the Edo state election, and as such he was believed to have supported Obaseki with funds.
Obaseki, under the People’s Democratic party won the election against his opponent, Pastor Ize-Iyamo, who contested under the All progressive congress.
