We are in a generation where people are eager to get rich as quickly as possible. Those who wish to get this kind of wealth are not interested in anything that brings in little income. They strive to make this money by hook or by crook but the question is, Is it right?
The Bible has the answer to that question. The bitter truth is that any money made in haste always goes along with something that is against God’s commandments. Is the Bible really encouraging quick wealth? Let us find out from the Bible verses below.
1. 1 Timothy 6:9
But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
Where the problem comes from is the desire for quick wealth. When you are too desperate to make it as quickly as possible, you easily fall into the temptation of committing crimes which will eventually end up in tears, even if you succeeded in making the money.
2. Proverbs 20:21
An inheritance claimed too soon will not be blessed at the end.
By the time you finish chasing wealth and you succeeded in amassing it, you would like it from the beginning but apart from the fact that it won’t last, Proverbs 20:21 says the end won’t be blessed. This means it will surely end in tears.
3. Proverbs 13:11
Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.
Have you seen that? Since any wealth you amass in a haste would perish, the best thing to do is to gather it little by little. It might take you 20 years to become that rich man that you want to be but it is better than becoming that rich man within a month but can’t enjoy the wealth.
4. Proverbs 28:20
A faithful man will abound with blessings, but whoever hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.
I want you to take note of the last line. It Is written that whoever makes hasty money will not go unpunished. This means even if you fortify yourself with charms, your punishment awaits you.
5. Proverbs 23:4-5
Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness. Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.
Do you know one funny thing about this quick wealth? It vanishes hastily the same way you made it. I want to ask you one question, have you ever seen a ritualist who enjoys his wealth till old age? Those monies fly away without you knowing so avoid the “get rich quick” attitude and work for your money.
If I may ask, do you know anyone who amassed fast wealth without being punished? Please share this article.
