Getting pregnant is a great joy for every woman and home but that joy will only be complete if the woman delivers safely. There are different complications women suffer during pregnancy and one of them is miscarriage. Miscarriage is a disheartening condition that has robbed a lot of marriages of their joy. It refers to the unexpected loss of a woman’s pregnancy before the 20th week that can be both physically and emotionally painful. That is why every woman out there needs to be knowledgeable about this condition and the things that cause it.
Eating good and healthy food is very important especially for pregnant women. Healthy eating keeps you feeling good and gives your baby the essential nutrients they need in the womb. Certain foods can damage the developing foetus in the womb during pregnancy and lead to miscarriage. So many people unknowingly consume these foods and that is why I wrote this article. Despite its sweet taste, pineapple is not really for pregnant women. Pineapple contains bromelain, which loosens up the cervix and starts untimely labour contractions, resulting in a miscarriage. Once you take in as a woman, eliminate this food from your diet.
Even if pawpaw (particularly not fully ripe one), is your favourite fruit, reduce the amount you consume once you become pregnant. Unripe papayas and green papayas have elements that act as laxatives and bring on premature labour. Papaya seeds are also rich in enzymes that cause contraction of the uterus, resulting in a miscarriage. All women should take note of this fruit.
3. Raw dairy products
This is another food that must be removed from your diet once you are pregnant. Unpasteurised milk and different kinds of cheese possess disease-carrying bacteria like Listeria monocytogenes, which can be harmful to the pregnancy. Consuming such dairy products can lead to pregnancy complications. Stop consuming raw dairy products if you don’t want your baby in the womb to be affected.
