Just like the saying goes, you are what you eat. I care about you and what you eat, which is why I’m writing this article for you. Do you know that the food you eat on a regular basis might become a poison to your body? On one of my visiting days in Senior Secondary, I ate from one person to the next. That was my first time doing something like that. The aftermath is not something I would wish on anyone, not even my worst enemy. I was sick for up to a week and couldn’t go to class or participate in any school activities. it was a dreadful experience for me.

When I returned home after the school year ends, my sister was startled at how slim I had become. When I informed her what had happened, she suggested it was due to food poisoning. What is the definition of food poisoning? I was thinking to myself. Does this imply that the food I ate was laced with poison? It wasn’t until I was older that I realized the true meaning of food poisoning. It doesn’t always imply that someone poisoned your meals, as in movies. Combining different types of food can result in food poisoning. One of the most common things we do with food is to combine it. People combine meals for various reasons; for example, my father and brothers cannot eat rice without beans. Some people mix foods to get a better result. I’d like to draw your attention to the fact that pairing the wrong foods might potentially hurt your body. Indigestion, constipation, heartburn, and even diarrhoea are all possible side effects. To prepare a balanced dinner and avoid the concerns listed above, you must first determine which foods mix well together.

Egg is a high-protein, nutrient-dense food, dubbed “superfood” by some. It is inexpensive and readily available, but it takes longer to digest; therefore, you must be cautious about the meals you combine with egg to avoid causing stomach discomfort. To avoid gastrointestinal problems, avoid eating the following things with eggs:

1. Fish:

This is an unfavorable combination. This is because avidin, a component of eggs, can neutralize vitamin B7, which is abundant in oily fish. Vitamin B7 is critical for the body’s fat, carbohydrate, and protein metabolism. Instead of fish, cook your egg with vegetables.

2. Potato:

3. Milk:

Milk should be drunk separately from other foods in order for the important components included in milk to be fully absorbed by the body.

4. Some fruits:

Some fruits, such as apples, watermelon, and pears, should not be had after protein-rich foods such as eggs. This is due to the fact that fruits require less time to digest than protein, which takes longer. When deciding between a sweet and a healthy food combo, always choose the healthier option so you don’t have to go through what I did. On the other hand, keep a close eye on your body for any reaction to any meal you eat so you can stop it in time.

Keep in mind that you are what you consume. Eat well and live well.
