Governor of Rivers State, Nyesome Wike, has said that he will not support former President Goodluck Jonathan on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), should he agree to run for the presidency in 2023.
Olajide TV gathered that Wike made the disclosure during an interview with the BBC service on Saturday.
Wike said, “I am a PDP member. If former President Goodluck Jonathan picks the ticket to run in my party, I will support him. I can’t do anti-party.”
“But if he picks the ticket to run in APC, I won’t support him because I can’t do anti-party.”
“He knows I won’t support him in APC even if he is from the south. I don’t do that kind of politics. It is party we are talking about, and I don’t play ethnicity.”
Governor Wike further declared that he would remain in the PDP no matter the outcome of any election.
He said, ‘‘every fight I fight will be in PDP. If they win me, they win me. If I win them, I win them. But to leave PDP to APC, which has cancer, and the stage of the cancer is the fourth stage which Doctors say kills, “the Governor alluded to the political health status of the rival party.
